Praise the LORD!

Firstly, I am forever grateful to the Lord for the salvation of my soul. I want to appreciate the Lord for being a Father indeed in my life. He has started a new chapter with me and my family, and I love the move of His grace and love upon us.

I thank Daddy specially, for adding another year to my years on the 2nd Of September. A new and an unending wave of His glory has blown to me and my family.

I am grateful for all these and more Dad! I love you Daddy.

Praise God, I’m testifying to the mercies of God in my life. I’m grateful to God for Life – being able to see this last quarter of this year isn’t by my power or strength.

I also want to bless God for my academics (as I’m currently in my finals), my family and also the church of God that’s still standing in faith.

I’m finally thanking God in advance for greater things He’s yet to do for me.

Sis. Christianah Sunday

I want to thank God for what He has been doing for me since I joined Green Pastures parish. In April, I was promoted in my office. And it wasn’t just a promotion, but a special one because He did it in a unique and special way.

Also, I want to thank Him for His divine protection and provision for my siblings and I. There is no prayer I prayed during all these special programs we had that He didn’t answer me.

Lastly, I want to thank Him for the success of my sister’s wedding. It wasn’t easy at all because we went through a lot, but He showed Himself and put our enemies to shame.

GOD IS ABLE (2)

Scripture: Ephesians 3:20

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” (NIV)

The Bible says God is able to make all grace abound toward you: 2 Corinthians 9:8. He’s able to keep that which you’ve committed unto Him against that day: 2 Timothy 1:12. He’s able to build you up: Acts 20:32. He’s able to subdue all things: Philippians 3:21.

One of the attributes of the Almighty God is the fact that He is OMNIPOTENT and that makes Him God. Job said in Job 42:2, “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.” Matt 19:26, Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

God is supreme over the laws of nature. Joshua 10:13-14 (NIV): “So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Joshua. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a man. Surely the LORD was fighting for Israel!”

I pray for the reader of this message, the Almighty God will fight all your battles for you in Jesus Name.

The Bible says in Acts 26:8 “Why should any of you consider it incredible that God raises the dead?” The greatest force here on earth is Prayer. Today every good thing that are considered dead will surely come back to life in Jesus Name. God is more than able to resurrect them because He is the Resurrection and Life (John 11:25). Gen 18:14, “Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.” Beloved, it is your appointed time to laugh because God will return to you again and will make all impossible cases possible in Jesus Name.

Psalms 126:1: God can even exercise power even over the free wills of men. Prov 21:1, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases.” Every day of this month and beyond, God will direct the heart of kings and they must serve you in Jesus Name (Isaiah 60:11&12). Phil 2:13, “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”

God can change even the hardest of hearts. He could even convict the toughest of unbelievers, Paul. I pray specially for God’s touch in the lives of as many who are persecuting Christians all over the world, they shall become a useful tool in the hand of God in Jesus Name.

1 Tim 1:15 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst.” God can work good out of everything. Joseph understood that while his brothers intended to harm him, God could work even within their evil schemes to save many lives. Are there any evil plans the enemies are having towards you? I pray for you today that all their evil plans will turn out for your own good in Jesus Name. Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O LORD, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!” (2 Samuel 15:31). Gen 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

John 16:24 (NIV), “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” Psalms 2:8, “Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” Of course, God is also interested in our small requests. But He doesn’t want us to just ask for small things. Ask for big things and expect/believe God to deliver.

Please be an expectant this month and you will never be disappointed in Jesus Name. Amen.

GOD IS ABLE (1)

Scripture: Ephesians 3:20

The Bible tells us that God is able to do above all that we think or ask. Our God has the ability to do more than you can imagine.

What is the meaning of ability? Ability is the function of having sufficient Power to accomplish a task. It could also mean Skill to accomplish a task, Resources to accomplish a task.

Therefore when we say that God is able we may mean that God has the power to perform.

God is absolutely able to do all things because all powers belongs to Him. Psalm 62:11 says “Once has God spoken, twice have I heard that power belong to God.” Matthew 28:18 says “All powers has been given unto God.” From Genesis to Revelation, we see God’s mighty power at work. God spoke the entire universe into existence out of nothing by His word alone! In Romans 1:20, Paul writes, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” The psalmist exclaimed (Ps. 33:6, 9), “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host…. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” Or, as Jeremiah (32:17) exclaimed, “Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You.”

Every day all around us, we have evidence to remind us of God’s omnipotence. Beloved, God has the power to reach you wherever you are. He has long arms that can reach anywhere. Psalms.139:7-8 says “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” The Bible tells us in Psalms 139:9-10 that, “If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”

God has enough power to use to set you free, He has the power to fight against His and your enemies, He has the power to pull down great stronghold like the wall of Jericho.

I assure the reader of this message that whatever situation you are going through right now, God is able to make you celebrate, laugh. Remain calm and trust in God because He will not disappoint you.

This is your month of celebration, I mean your set month that you have being waiting for. Amen.

Annual Praise Concert — A New Dawn 2.0

Hi there! Have you heard? An Annual Praise Concert is coming up on the 28th of November by 11am at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Green Pastures Parish, Lagos Province 17.

It’s the second of its kind, tagged A New Dawn 2.0, aka Unconditional Praise.

Anointed gospel artistes — Buchi, Damilola and Bukola Bekes, Ajayi Oladele Samuel (Wamilele), Michael Akingbala, Samson Famobio (Big Sam) will be ministering. In addition, there will be ministrations by the Lord of Lords Zonal choir, Praise Palace Zonal choir, Golden Gate Zonal choir, Royal Priesthood Assembly, Province 74 choir, Victory Center LP89 choir, Sister Path and the LP17 Intervention Team.

Our voices will be ascending unto the throne room of the eternal King as we give Him unconditional praise. You shouldn’t miss it for the world!

His Never Ending Love

David committed adultery and murder. Samson leaked his secret and his hair was cut off. Nebuchadnezzar was proud and was punished to live like an animal for years. Peter denied Jesus, his Teacher and Friend. Paul persecuted Christians.

The Bible is replete with stories of people who sinned in one way or the other. But our God is a God of mercy, and He makes His saving grace available to all. Perhaps, you also have stumbled and fallen. Perhaps you think you’re too far gone to be saved. Perhaps, you believe that God’s love is not for you. That’s a lie! The love of God is everlasting. His saving grace is available for you too. No one is excluded from the finished work of Christ. Even if you’ve fallen flat on your face, God doesn’t hate you. He wants you back. He wants to restore you, just like He restored the heroes in the Bible.

David was called a man after God’s own heart. Samson’s hair grew back and he became strong again. Nebuchadnezzar’s sanity was restored; and he got his kingdom and status back. Peter repented and God performed miracles through him. Paul encountered Jesus and wrote two-thirds of the New Testament.

So what sin have you committed that you think God won’t forgive? That you can’t be restored? Turn to God and confess your sins. He’ll forgive and restore you, for there’s hope for even a tree that has been cut down…at the scent of water it’ll flourish and sprout like a young plant!

His love for you is never ending. Don’t ever forget that!

A Letter from DAD

Dear Youth,

Hi. I formed you in your mother’s womb. I watched you grow into the fine person you’ve become. My heart beats with love for you, and so I made my saving grace available to you through My Son. I watched you struggle with impurity; I watched you try to stand and then fall. I saw you make the decision to follow Me, and then turn back when it got tough. I saw you mixing with the wrong crowd, because you couldn’t tell them no. I watched you compromise, because you felt you weren’t courageous enough to stand out. I listened to your cries for help, and gave you comfort through My Spirit. When you came running back, I opened My arms to welcome you, but you left again.

Now you’ve taken a stand, a firm one. My heart is pulsating with joy at this, my face breaking into a smile so bright it rivals the sun. Then I saw you go down on your knees to ask Me, “Father, how do I keep my life pure?”

Here’s my reply – young people keep their lives pure by obeying My commands. You keep your life unsullied and free from immorality by keeping to My instructions. Surround yourself with friends that seek Me, meditate on My Word day and night so that you would know it by heart and be able to follow it.

All these aren’t too difficult, right? But if you still consider them hard to abide by, I understand. I know you can’t do it by yourself, that’s why I gave you My Spirit. He’ll help you, teach you, guide you and lead you into all truth.

I look forward to hearing from you; after all I have told you to come so that we can reason together. You can always come before Me with boldness and confidence through Jesus, My Son.

Oh, and in celebration of your new identity in Christ, your inheritance with the saints and your citizenship of heaven; I say, cheers.

Welcome Back!

I trudge along the streets, light breaking out from the horizon as the sun rises in the sky. Lifting up my eyes, I gaze at my father’s house in the distance, the building towering above all others.

Blisters litter my feet, every step forcing out gasps from my mouth. But I refuse to stop, my mind racing.

I had been gone for too long. Would my father recognize me? Would he accept me back? What about my elder brother?

My gaze lands on a biscuit wrapper and I bend to pick it up. I find crumbs inside, so I throw them into my mouth. At least that would suffice for the meals I had missed for days now. Perhaps if my father doesn’t accept me, I would beg to join his servants. Their state is still better than my current one.

I limp towards father’s gate, but as I near it, it flings open and my father dashes towards me. I see the tears in his eyes as he wraps his arms round me and draws me into his embrace.

“Father–”

“It’s okay son.” Father whispers, his arms tightening around me.

Moments later, he pulls away and leads me into the compound, barking orders at his servants to get me a change of clothes and to kill the fattest cow to celebrate my return.

“My son is back home.” Father says, his eyes dancing with joy. “My son is back home.”

I blink back tears, but they refuse to retreat. With my hand clutching my father’s, he guides me into our home, where I’d always belonged. I realize now that I should have returned a long time ago. Father would never have condemned me. Instead, he would have welcomed me with a loving heart, just like he did now.

How far have you wandered away from your Heavenly Father? Just like the father of the prodigal son, God is waiting for you to return to Him. His arms are itching to receive you, and His heart is beating with love just for you.

Come back home, dear son/daughter, for your Father’s home is also yours. Don’t be shy, don’t be afraid. Return to God, and you’ll be ushered into His presence with shouts of joy by the angels as they sing, “Welcome back!”

Run To Win

Imagine a team of athletes are running on a track, and then one of them goes off the track, runs towards the spectators and begins to take pictures with them even though the race is not yet over. What would you think? That he or she is an unserious athlete that has no ambition to win, right? He or she would most probably not win the race and might even get disqualified.

Similarly, we as Christians are running a race.

Because we are running a race, we can’t afford to be distracted by the things of this world. Instead, we are to fix our eyes on Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith while we run the race that has been set before us. We are to remove from our lives anything that would get in the way, especially the sin that so easily and cleverly catches us as Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us, and run this race with endurance, bearing in mind our reward, that is, the attainment of a crown that will last forever.

The reason why we do this is so that even after preaching the gospel to others, we would not be disqualified. While people of this world engage in sports to win a medal that will perish, the crown that awaits you will never rust.

Moreover, you can’t attain this crown by your own strength. It is not by your power or might, but by the Spirit of the Lord. He will help and guide you, so that you won’t make the wrong turns in this race of a lifetime (Zechariah 4:6). This is one reason out of multitudes for which Abba gave us the Holy Spirit. He serves as a guide to encourage and keep us in the right path.

Therefore, brethren do not let anything weigh you down; don’t give room for distractions and discouragement. Remember that in a race all the runners run but only one gets the prize. Run like that! (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

In Jude 1:24 the Bible says that God is able to keep us from stumbling or falling into sin and present us unblemished in His presence. You have to learn how to hold on to His word. The Holy Spirit is with you to help you navigate through the twists and turns of this life, but it’s difficult to know His voice without knowing the Word. This is because the Holy Spirit only speaks the Truth; Jesus is the Word that became flesh, He is also the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 1:14, 14:6). So if you don’t know the Word, you won’t know the truth. If you don’t know the truth, then you can’t know when the Spirit of Truth is leading you.

How are you running your race? Is it to win or to lose?

Please, run your race to win so that at the end you can say with a joyful heart,

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

And now, a crown awaits me.”
